Story / Details

Sairat is a love story, as advertised. Aarchi , a rich upper class girl falls for her classmate Parshya , a poor but smart boy from the lower social strata. The magic happens, and they start seeing each other. Secretly at first, but they get bolder with passing time. The problem is that Aarchi is not just from the upper class, her father is a powerful politician, and her brother Prince is following in on his footsteps. The entire affair is a recipe for trouble, and as expected, trouble arrives. With the help of Parshya’s friends, Baalya and Salya, they decide to make a run for it, but fate has other plans.

The film features a strong ensemble cast led by Rinku Rajguru as Archana Patil (Archie) and Akash Thosar as Prashant Kale (Parshya). Arbaz Shaikh plays Salim Shaikh (Sallya), while Tanaji Galgunde appears as Pradeep Bansode (Langdya). Suresh Vishwakarma portrays Patil “Tatya,” Archie’s father, and Suraj Pawar plays Prince. Supporting roles include Anuja Mule as Annie, Bhushan Manjule as Shaid, Chhaya Kadam as Suman, and Rubina Inamdar as Sapna. Director Nagraj Manjule also makes a cameo appearance as a cricket commentator. Shivam More plays Aakash, the son of Parshya and Archie.

The extended cast includes Mithunchandra Chaudhari as Lokhande Sir, Bhakti Chavan as Archie’s mother, Geeta Chavan as Aarchi Chi Aai, Ramchandra Dhumal, and Pooja Dolas as Constable Ashwini. Harshal Gire appears as a schoolboy, while other supporting actors include Shrikant Honmane (voice role as Shri), Dhananjay Nanaware as Mangesh (Mangya), Vaibhavi Pardeshi as Parshya’s mother, Jyoti Subhash as Saguna Aatya, and Sambhaji Tangde as Parshya’s father.

The film is directed by Nagraj Manjule, who also wrote the story, screenplay, and dialogues along with Bharat Manjule. It is produced by Nitin Keni, Nikhil Sane, and others, with contributions from executive and associate producers including Nishant Roy Bombarde, Gargee Kulkarni, and Nagraj Manjule. The music is composed by Ajay and Atul Gogavale, while cinematography is handled by Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti and editing by Kutub Inamdar. The production design is led by Sandeep Kewlani, with contributions from art directors, costume designers, makeup artists, and a large technical crew across sound, camera, and visual effects departments, making it a comprehensive cinematic effort.
