Jacqueline Fernandez (born 11 August 1985) is a Sri Lankan actress, model, and former beauty queen, primarily active in the Indian film industry. Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama, Bahrain, into a multi-ethnic family. Her father, Elroy Fernandez, is a Sri Lankan Burgher and former musician, while her mother, Kim, is of Malaysian and Canadian descent. Her maternal grandfather is Canadian, and she also has Indian ancestry from her great-grandparents who hailed from Goa.
Raised in Bahrain, Fernandez attended Sacred Heart School and later moved to Australia for higher education. She graduated in mass communication from the University of Sydney and briefly worked as a television reporter in Sri Lanka.
