Prajakta Mali was born and brought up in Pune. From a young age, she was inclined towards classical arts, especially Bharatanatyam, which she started learning at the age of 7. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Performing Arts (Bharatanatyam) from Lalit Kala Kendra, Pune University, and was awarded the university’s Best Student title. She also received a prestigious scholarship from the Ministry of Culture for higher education in dance.
